Registration fees may be reduced by participation in our Bonafund program:

BONAFUND - Available to all registrants.  This one-time payment of $40.00 for each family member (all family members required to pay), is income tax deductible and provides for reduced LBCA registration fees for life.   Hockey and Figure Skating fees are reduced by up to $100 per registration.  Therefore a family planning to participate in ice sports for a couple of years will see bonafund contribution paid for within a couple of years.  It is suggested that all ice sports registrants consider contributing to the LBCA Bonafund program.  Bonafund contributions are non-refundable.

KIDSPORT SPORTS FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM -Funding is available for low-income families who require assistance in paying program registration fees for all LBCA programs and purchasing equipment for programs. Get in shape for the 2009-2010 hockey season.  This quality program has been developed by Fred Sloan

(33 years) and is taught by his trained team of instructors.  The students are divided by age groups, but this is subject to change by the instructors.  Session age groupings may be adjusted to accommodate demand.

Balance, agility and power skills are taught through continuous drills, with pucks being used when possible.  Full hockey equipment is mandatory.  The emphasis of this program is on stamina, fun and skill.

Peewee Checking Clinic

The Lake Bonavista Hockey Program is operating a mandatory checking clinic for first year Peewee players and anyone new to checking in September.

Each player will receive three hours of instruction on checking including safety, learning to give a check and learning to take a check.  This is mandatory for all first year peewee players (excluding goalies) so not everyone has to be registered for the program.

Regardless of whether or not your child has played in spring hockey and played in a checking environment, these sessions are mandatory.  The reason for this is to ensure the safety of the players and to have a common theme or message for players moving into the Peewee age group.

Players who do not take the checking clinic will not be permitted to participate in evaluations in Lake Bonavista. This may appear harsh but we are taking the issue of checking very seriously.

The cost for the clinic is $25.00.
